Fluoride Status Analysis

Health professionals and individual households may request to have samples of their water to be tested for analysis. In Iowa, water testing kits for fluoride analysis may be requested from the University of Iowa State Hygienic laboratory in Ankeny, IA at 515-725-1600.

The optimal fluoride level recommended by the U.S. Public Health Service and CDC (Centers for Disease Control) for drinking water is 0.7 parts per million (ppm).
