Visiting Scholar Program in Periodontics
The Department of Periodontics offers an individualized professional development program for dentists and dental specialists. The main objective of the UI Visiting Scholar Professional Development Program in Periodontics is to provide an outstanding and customized professional experience for dentists or dental specialists who are interested in advancing their knowledge in Periodontics and Oral Implantology. Individuals participating in this program will have the opportunity to attend periodontal seminars and lectures, observe periodontal faculty members and/or residents in a clinical setting and participate in research-related activities.
Dr. Miguel Romero-Bustillos is the second participant in the Visiting Scholar Professional Development Program offered by the Department of Periodontics. Dr. Romero-Bustillos is a recent graduate from the DDS program at the University of Granada (Spain). Shortly after completing his program in Granada, on June 27th 2014, he joined the University of Iowa. His main goals are to gain exposure to advance periodontal and dental implant therapy and to get involved in research projects in these two areas.
