Welcome Message

Welcome! The Department of Orthodontics is a world leader in patient care, teaching, and research. Our doctors, scientists, and staff strive to provide unparalleled orthodontic treatment to our patients, unsurpassed education to our orthodontic residents, and scientific breakthroughs.

We provide "state of the art" treatment to our patients who present with a broad spectrum of malocclusions and dentofacial deformities.  We care for adolescent patients, adult patients, pediatric patients, craniofacial anomalies patients, patients requiring orthognathic surgery, and other multidisciplinary patients. In terms of teaching, our goal is to provide orthodontic residents with an in depth education of biological and biomechanical principles related to orthodontics, teach students to diagnose, treatment plan, and deliver a comprehensive orthodontic health care service, and to develop research and service skills. The Department of Orthodontics is the recipient of national awards for groundbreaking research and significant research funding from the National Institutes of Health. We are here to serve the people of Iowa.
