Dr. Katsaros practiced as a general dentist in private practice and was in the Greek army, practicing dentistry in military hospitals in Greece, from 2008-2013. After completing his M.S. and certificate periodontics at Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2016, he joined the Department of Periodontics, UI College of Dentistry as a clinical assistant professor.
Dr. Katsaros is director of the Periodontic Methods I course (D1s). He lectures in the periodontal curriculum for D1, D2, and D3 students and lectures and participates in seminars in the postdoctoral program.
Dr. Katsaros supervises students in the predoctoral and postdoctoral clinics and provides private patient care in the faculty practice (Dental Service Plan).
Dr. Katsaros participates in clinical research; his interests include the evaluation and comparison of different materials and techniques used for guided bone regeneration and post-extraction ridge preservation.
Dr. Katsaros is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology; the Western Society of Periodontology; the Dental Association of Athens, Greece; and the Dental Association of Lesvos Devision, Greece.
