Teresa A. Marshall

Dr. Marshall joined the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1991. She is a registered dietician and a professor in the Department of Preventive and Community Dentistry. Dr. Marshall is currently serving as the University of Iowa Faculty Senate’s Vice-President.
Dr. Marshall coordinates and teaches the nutrition curriculum within the College of Dentistry. She is also the course director for Cariology (D1s) and the Student Research Minicourse (D1s).
Dr. Marshall's primary research activities address diet/nutrition, oral health, and systemic health in young children. She is also engaged in educational research activities evaluating student outcomes and/or facilitate student success.

Dr. Marshall is a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Iowa Dietetic Association, the International Association for Dental Research, the American Dental Education Association, and the American Association of Public Health Dentistry. She is past secretary of the Nutrition Education for Health Professionals practice group, past secretary-treasurer of the Nutrition Section, and past president of the Iowa Section of the International Association for Dental Research. She is a Research Editor for the Journal of the American Dietetic Association and a reviewer for multiple nutrition and dental journals.
