Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The role of the DEI Office is to provide strategic and day-to-day operational leadership on all diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, programs, and practices for the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.  It is responsible for cultivating and championing a diverse, equitable and inclusive collegiate environment for faculty, staff, students and patients.

​​​​​​​Responsibilities

• Implement the COD’s DEI Strategic Plan
• Provide DEI training and education
• Serve as a consultant on DEI related issues
• Promote diverse and inclusive recruitment, retention, and professional development strategies for faculty, staff, students, and residents
• Coordinate with collegiate committees
• Represent the COD at the university and national level
• Assist with DEI accountability policies, procedures, and reporting
