Dental Student:  These are junior (3rd year) dental students who are assisted by other 3rd year students.  They are supervised by an Endodontist.  All students have completed prior Endodontic instruction before entering this clinical area.  They continue to receive instruction from Endodontic Department Faculty and/or Adjunct Faculty while working in the clinic.  Up to two Endodontic instructors are on the clinic floor to assist and be available for consultations at all times.

  • Our Adjunct Faculty help us by giving their academic expertise.  They are practicing Endodontists from different parts of the state of Iowa that have taken time away from their private practice to assist in the education of our students.  To meet our Adjunct Faculty please visit https://www.dentistry.uiowa.edu/endodontics-adjunct-faculty

  • Our Department Faculty supervise on the clinic floor, lead seminars, and consult with other Departments within the College of Dentistry. The Endodontic Faculty also work with Family Dentistry students, and they perform other duties related to their field of Endodontics. Endodontic Resident:  Our Residents are a select few that have been chosen from numerous applications to participate in our advanced training program.  They are dentists receiving Endodontic Certification in the 2-year program.   To meet our residents please visit https://www.dentistry.uiowa.edu/endodontics-residents

Endodontic Faculty:  These individuals are considered the Department Faculty, whom see patients and have additional responsibilities within the department.  To meet our faculty please visit https://www.dentistry.uiowa.edu/endodontics-faculty

New patients should arrive 30 minutes prior to their appointment time to complete the required paperwork.

Use the driving directions located at https://www.dentistry.uiowa.edu/directions to 801 Newton Road, Iowa City, Iowa.  We are down the street from the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics (UIHC).  You must enter our parking lot from the west side, located by Hawkeye Carver Arena and then turn left into Patient Parking.  If you keep going forward, there is a drop off circle located next to the West Entrance.

Upon arrival, use the West Entrance into the College of Dentistry, which is located off the circle drive in the front of the Dental Science Building.  Upon entering, you will see a short flight of stairs (or use the convenience of the elevator) to the 3rd Floor.  Turn right after passing thru the doorway into the building.  The Department of Endodontics is the first clinic located on the right side.  Should you need assistance, there is an Information Desk located at the entrance.
