Does Soda Pop Cause Cavities?

A patient educational brochure entitled "Does Soda Pop Cause Cavities?" is available from the University of Iowa Department of Preventive & Community Dentistry. The brochure describes the oral & systemic health effects of soda pop consumption. Sugar & caffeine content as well as pH data are provided for several soda pop brands. Recommendations in the brochure include limiting pop consumption to one can per day, switching to diet pop or other sugar-free beverages and modifications in pop consumption patterns.
