Special Care Clinic

For the convenience of the frail, elderly, and the medically complex adult over 18 years of age, comprehensive dental services are offered in one easily accessible clinic location. All patients are assigned to faculty members who coordinate their care with senior dental students.

Recognizing that every individual has special needs, all factors, such as health problems, age-associated problems, transportation and other personal needs are taken into consideration in determining appropriate dental treatment.

For the needs of our patients, the Special Care Clinic provides:

Personalized assistance for handicapped patients
Assistance in arranging transportation
Special treatment planning to meet individual’s needs
Complete dental services provided in one location
Special management for patients with complex medical or physical needs
Special consideration in making appointments to meet every patient’s needs. to ensure continuity of care, and keep number and length of appointments to a minimum
Recall and preventive programs to help maintain optimal oral health

Faculty in the Special Care Clinic are available to see private patients. We provide complete dental services for all adults, with an emphasis on prevention, oral health maintenance, and total patient treatment planning. Fees are comparable to other private practices. Patients and visitors may park in the visitor’s parking lot located next to the Dental Science Building. An hourly rate is charged.
