Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology and Medicine

The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is presently conducting a search for a full-time clinical or tenure track faculty member in the Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology & Medicine. Major responsibilities include: teaching and research with emphasis in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, providing strong leadership with the department, collaborating with collegiate faculty, and active participation in the department faculty practice plan. The position is available July 1, 2008; screening begins immediately. Applicants must have: DDS/DMD from an ADA-accredited dental school or foreign equivalent; completion of ADA-accredited advanced training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology; record of effective teaching; and evidence of research/scholarly activity. Desirable qualifications: Board certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and experience in clinical diagnosis and treatment planning. Department of Family Dentistry

The University of Iowa's College of Dentistry is presently conducting a search for a 60%-time clinical track faculty member in the Department of Family Dentistry. Major responsibilities include: coordination of the Comprehensive Care Treatment Planning/Sequencing curricula/programs for fourth-year dental students; mentoring pre-doctoral dental students; providing clinical and didactic instruction; supervising direct patient care of comprehensive dental patients in the pre-doctoral student clinic; and participation in the department's intramural faculty practice. The position is available July 1, 2008; screen begins immediately. Applicants must have: DDS/DMD from an ADA-accredited dental school; AEGD or GPR certificate from an ADA-accredited program; at least five years of general dental practice experience; and demonstrated record of success in directing a treatment planning/sequencing course for pre-doctoral dental students at an ADA-accredited dental school. Dental Administration

The University of Iowa's College of Dentistry is searching for a member of the College's administrative leadership team. The successful candidate will serve as Assistant/Associate Dean for Education and will be an active participant in planning, policy-making, and administrative management of the College. Duties will include: coordination of the curriculum, admissions, and financial aid processes; managing student counseling and registration; and liaison with University officials, national dental education organizations and the state-wide dental professional community. The position is available July 1, 2008; screening begins immediately. The successful candidate must have: a record of at least five years of effective teaching in a dental school setting; demonstrated commitment to a culture of diversity and respect among students, faculty, and staff; and evidence of effective relevant administrative/budget experience. Department of Dental Research

The University of Iowa's College of Dentistry is presently conducting a search for a full-time tenure track faculty member in the Department of Dental Research. Major responsibilities include: planning and conducting research in the area of existing oral health research programs at the College of Dentistry as well as teaching and supervising graduate students and residents. The position is available immediately; screening begins immediately. Applicants must have: D.D.S. and/or Ph.D. or equivalent and have expertise in areas of research that complement existing programs at the College of Dentistry. These include: Bone and Tissue Engineering; Cariology, Fluoride and Microbiology Research; Craniofacial Anomalies Research; Epidemiology, Behavior, Health Policy & Outcomes Research; and Soft Tissue and Oral Cancer Research. Such an individual must have a well-developed research program, as represented by publications in peer-reviewed journals and a record of significant, ongoing research funding, preferably including federal support. Department of Prosthodontics

Major responsibilities include: Preclinical and clinical teaching of fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics at the predoctoral and postdoctoral levels, and participation in the department's intramural faculty practice. Applicants must have: DDS/DMD from an ADA-accredited dental school or foreign equivalent, and by the time of appointment, a Master's Degree or Certificate in Prosthodontics from an ADA-accredited dental school.
