Brief Professional Resume

Dr. Williamson joined The University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2001. He practiced general dentistry in College Station, Texas, for 17 years before returning to graduate school for his certificate in prosthodontics. Dr. Williamson works half-time in the Department of Family Dentistry and half-time in the Department of Prosthodontics.

Teaching Activities: Dr. Williamson's primary teaching responsibilities are with the junior and senior students in both didactic and clinical training. He directs the freshman Dental Occlusion course and is involved in the clinical training of the prosthodontic graduate students.

Clinical Activities: Dr. Williamson treats patients with prosthodontic needs in the college-based practice.

Research Activities: Dr. Williamson's research interests include accelerated aging and the chemical, physical and mechanical properties of maxillofacial elastomers.

National or International Professional Appointments or Activities: Dr. Williamson is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists; American Dental Association; American Prosthodontic Society; Iowa Dental Association; a consultant to the Council on Dental Practice of the American Dental Association (2008); an American Dental Association CELL Seminar Series speaker; an American Dental Association CELL online reviewer; a member of the Mu Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon; and a member of the Johnson County District Dental Society.
