

Administrative Activities: As director of Oral Diagnosis, Dr. Spieker organizes the scheduling of patients for the pre-doctoral students. The Oral Diagnosis Clinic plays an important role in gathering information, diagnosing, and planning treatment for adult patients. Treatment is planned and sequenced to best fit the needs and expectations of each individual patient.
Clinical Activities: Dr. Spieker conducts comprehensive exams. In addition to clinical teaching, Dr. Spieker sees general dentistry patients one and one-half days per week.
Teaching Activities: Dr. Spieker is a clinical instructor in the Oral Diagnosis Clinic. She also participates in treatment planning, ethics and quality assurance seminars.
Research Activities: Although not currently involved in research, Dr. Spieker is interested in submerged permanent teeth and more specifically, would like to explore the success of interceptive treatment.
National or International Professional Appointments or Activities: Dr. Spieker is a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of the Academy of General Dentistry. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Canadian Dental Association, and the American Dental Education Association. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Academy of General Dentistry. She also served as an on-site quality assurance reviewer for the Royal College of Dental Surgeons from 1997-2002.
