Dr. Rouman joined The University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2007. Prior to coming to Iowa, Dr. Rouman was a dental
fellow specialist in the Department of Geriatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota's School of Dentistry and
in 2007, he worked
as a director of the oral pathology program for dental hygiene students at Minnesota State University. He completed
a general practice residency 2002, followed by an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency in 2005, at Cairo University, Egypt. He worked
part time in private practice from 2002 to 2005.
Teaching Activities: Dr. Rouman is involved in didactic and clinical teaching of geriatric
and special needs dentistry
through lecturing and mentoring fourth-year dental students' clinical activities.
Clinical Activities: Dr. Rouman treats patients in the Geriatric and Special Needs Clinic and also
in the Geriatric Mobile Unit.
National or International Professional Appointments or Activities: Dr. Rouman was elected a member of the Royal College of Surgeons
of Edinburgh, Scotland. He is a member of the American Society of Geriatric Dentistry, and the American Dental Education Association.
