Brief Professional Resume:
Dr. Lund served as a faculty member in the College of Dentistry's Department of Prosthodontics
from 1987 to 1993; he rejoined the department in 2007. Dr. Lund practiced general dentistry from 1980 to 1987
while concurrently holding a clinical faculty appointment at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He
served as co-director of the graduate prosthodontics program at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 1993
to 1997, and maintained a private practice limited to prosthodontics in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from 1997 to 2006.
Teaching Activities: Dr. Lund teaches both pre- and post-doctoral students within the Department of
Prosthodontics in the pre-clinical laboratories, the simulation clinic, the patient clinics, and in the classroom
setting.
Clinical Activities: Dr. Lund practices within the College's faculty practice. His practice encompasses
all areas of prosthodontics and complex restorative dentistry, including fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics,
as well as esthetic dentistry.
Research Activities: Dr. Lund's research is in the area of dental materials, color in dentistry (color and
translucency of dental materials and oral tissues, color measurement methodology, instrumental shade determination),
evaluation of prosthodontic clinical techniques, implant prosthodontics, and education research.</P>
National or International Professional Appointments or Activities:
Dr. Lund is a member of the American Dental Association and a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. He
is an active member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics where he has served as president
and as a member of
the Board of Directors. He is a member of the editorial board for Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and
a
reviewer for Journal of Prosthodontics.
