Brief Professional Resume:

Dr. Gómez was in private endodontic practice in Bogotá , Colombia from 1980-2003. During this time he was also a faculty member at the College of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics, Javeriana University and was president of the Association of Endodontists of Bogotá for eight consecutive years. He was appointed as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Endodontics in October 2005.

Teaching Activities: Dr. Gómez instructs sophomore, junior and senior dental students in the Department of Endodontics and is the coordinator of Endodontics in Family Dentistry. He also actively participates in the Advanced Education Program in Endodontics.

Research Activities: Dr. Gómez is interested in research related to endodontics, pulp biology and periapical pathology. He is currently studying the scanning electron microscope evaluation of retreated root canals filled with Resilon®.

National or International Professional Appointments or Activities:
Dr. Gómez is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, the Society of Endodontics of Bogotá , and the American Dental Education Association. He is a member of the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
