Brief Professional Resume:

Dr. Bishara joined the College of Dentistry faculty in 1970 after eleven years in private practice. He also was a member of the staff of the Moassat Hospital in Alexandria, Egypt. Dr. Bishara is actively involved in a number of organizations including the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics and the American Association of Orthodontics.

Teaching Activities:  Include both graduate and predoctoral students at the College of Dentistry. Dr. Bishara is specifically involved in teaching about facial growth and clinical seminars as well as supervision of patient treatment in the orthodontic predoctoral and graduate clinics.

Clinical Activities:  Dr. Bishara is actively involved in the diagnosis and treatment of patients both privately and in the various collegiate clinics.

Research Activities: Dr. Bishara has numerous research interests including facial growth in normal individuals, evaluation of orthodontic treatment results both surgically and non-surgically, and biomaterial-biomechanical research of brackets and adhesives.

National or International Professional Appointments or Activities: Dr. Bishara is the past president of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is an honorary fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontics, the British Orthodontics Conference and a number of other orthodontic international organizations. He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally.
