Brief Professional Resume:
Dr. McKnight served as a staff dentist at Broadlawns Hospital, Des Moines,
from 1999-2001. She also was in private practice in Johnston, Iowa, from 2000-2001.
From 2001-2005, she was clinical
assistant professor and General Practice Residency director in the Hospital Dentistry division of UI Hospitals
and Clinics. Dr. McKnight is now clinical assistant professor in the College of Dentistry's
Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology, and Medicine.
Teaching Activities: Dr. McKnight teaches in the Oral Diagnosis Clinic and the Special Care Clinic. She also gives lectures
on infection control, with special attention focusing on latex hypersensitivity, and
she will be a Problem Based Learning (PBL) facilitator
this year.
Clinical Activities: Dr. McKnight sees clinic patients.
National or International Professional Appointments or Activities: Dr. McKnight is a member of the
American Dental Association, the American Dental Education Association, the American Academy of General Dentistry, the Iowa Dental
Association, the University District Dental Society, and a reviewer for Special Care in Dentistry.
