

Teaching Activities: Dr. Marshall coordinates and teaches the nutrition curriculum within the College of Dentistry. She also directs the experiential course for first- and second-year dental students.
Research Activities: Dr. Marshall's research interests focus on nutrition, oral health and systemic health. Current research efforts include diet, growth and oral health in young children; and nutrition and oral health in the elderly.
National or International Professional Appointments or Activities: Dr. Marshall is a member of the American Dietetic Association the Iowa Dietetic Association, International Association for Dental Research, American Dental Education Association, and American Association of Public Health Dentistry. She is past secretary of the Nutrition Education for Health Professionals practice group, past secretary-treasurer of the Nutrition Section, and past president of the Iowa Section of the International Association for Dental Research. She is a reviewer for Journal of the American Dietetic Association, Special Care Dentistry, Pediatrics, General Dentistry, European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Journal of the American College of Nutrition, Pediatrics, Journal of Public Health Dentistry, and Community Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology.
