Teaching Activities: Teaching responsibilities include both didactic and clinical undergraduate education. Dr. Goepferd is also heavily involved in clinical and didactic education in the pediatric dentistry graduate program. He is currently the director of the Division of Pediatric Dentistry of the Department of Hospital Dentistry at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and supervisor of dentistry in the Division of Developmental Disabilities at Center for Disabilities and Development.
Clinical Activities: Dr. Goepferd is actively involved in clinical private practice in Pediatric Dentistry as well as supervising clinical treatment of children in Hospital Dentistry and dental treatment in the hospital operating room.
Research Activities: Current activities have investigated the role of sealants in arresting carious lesion progression and the prevalence of fluorosis.
National or International Professional Appointments or Activities: Dr. Goepferd is a member of the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's National Postdoctoral Matching Program Steering Committee.
