Dr. Caplan is professor and head of the Department of Preventive and Community Dentistry.
Before joining the UI College of Dentistry in 2007, he was a faculty in the Department of Dental Ecology at the University of
North Carolina School of Dentistry from 1995-2007.
Teaching Activities:
Research Activities: Dr. Caplan studies outcomes related to endodontic treatment;
decision-making in endodontics; relationships between oral
and systemic diseases; and evaluation of diagnostic tests.
