The 56th Annual Meeting of the Iowa Section of the American Association for Dental Research took place on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Morning events included a keynote address by Dr. John Canady, University of Iowa Department of Otolaryngology, who presented “Delivering Health Care in Developing Countries.” Oral research presentations and poster sessions followed. The awards banquet and buffet dinner was held at the Coralville Holiday Inn.

Local Research Seminar Series
The Dows Institute sponsors a series of noon seminars, held on the 3rd or 4th Tuesday of each month, with eminent researchers from institutions in the United States and abroad, who report on their work to faculty and students. Individual and small group sessions are also arranged. The seminars provide opportunities for faculty and students to learn about work in progress in other laboratories, keep abreast of research advances, and maintain lines of communication between the Dows Institute, the College of Dentistry, and other leading institutions worldwide.
