The University of Iowa College of Dentistry

Billing, Payment & Insurance

Reduced fees are offered in the student clinics as compensation for the patient’s additional time commitment and for participation in the educational process. The College expects payment for services not covered by insurance or Title XIX, including co-payments, on the day of service. Be aware that a half-down payment is required before extensive procedures such as oral surgery, periodontic surgery, endodontic treatment, and prosthodontic treatment, are begun. Payments may be made by cash, check, or credit card. Patients may request an installment plan for more extensive treatment through the College’s business office. IowaCare members should be aware that the College is not authorized to accept IowaCare for payment.

Pre-doctoral Incentive Program (PIP)

The College of Dentistry and the University Benefits Office have created an incentive program in the pre-doctoral clinics for University faculty, staff, and their families who participate in either Dental I, II, or III. Read more.
