Summer Enrichment Program
The College of Dentistry offers a four week summer enrichment program for students admitted to the current fall entering class. Attendance is restricted to a small group, no more than 12-15, newly admitted dental students. Entering students who are non-science majors; or who have GPA or DAT scores below last year’s entering class means; or are at all anxious about the transition to the College of Dentistry are encouraged to consider participation in this excellent program. The schedule includes an introduction to Problem Based Learning (PBL), the basic sciences, and Dental Anatomy as well as study skills and test taking workshops. In addition, and equally important, are the social activities with current dental students that will assist in the students’ acclimation to the College of Dentistry as well as to the Iowa City/Coralville communities.
There is no tuition for the program and a stipend is provided to assist with living and travel expenses. Students must submit an application to the Office for Student Affairs for consideration for the program.
