The Iowa Practice Opportunity Fair is held once a year.  This year, the Iowa Practice Opportunity Fair was held on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center in Coralville and was hosted by the Office of Iowa Practice Opportunities. 

The Office of Iowa Practice Opportunities took a new approach to the Iowa Practice Opportunities Fair this year.  It was combined with the Iowa American Student Dental Association's (IASDA) annual Exhibitor Fair.  The Exhibitor Fair has historically been held early evening and is well-attended by students. 

Practices and communities in Iowa who had indicated to the Office of Iowa Practice Opportunities that they were seeking a dentist for their practice or community were invited to participate.  For the 23 Iowa practices and Iowa communities who participated, this event provided exposure to the over 150 students and their spouses who attended. 

Most of the practices and communities that exhibited at the fair felt being present was beneficial.  Participants had a chance to speak with students about their opportunity and to showcase their practice and community.  For students, the chance to interact with the participants proved valuable as well.
