Brief Professional Resume:

Dr. Squier joined The University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1975. He is a professor in the Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology and Medicine, and director of graduate studies at the College of Dentistry.

Research Activities: Dr. Squier's research interests include the relationship between the permeability of mucosal tissues and the pathogenesis of disease and tobacco control and cessation. He directs the oral mucosal disease research program and the NIH-funded Institutional Training Program in Oral Health Research.

National or International Professional Appointments and Activities: Dr. Squier is a former editor of Archives of Oral Biology and a current member of the editorial board of International Journal of Oral Biology. He is a member of the Iowa Council of the American Cancer Society, the Iowa Commission on Tobacco Use Prevention and Control, and Clean Air for Everyone (CAFE) Iowa. Memberships include the American and International Associations for Dental Research and the International Association of Oral Pathologists.
