Brief Professional Resume:
Dr. Carrie McKnight served as a staff dentist at Broadlawns Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa, from 1999-2001. She
also was in private practice in Johnston, Iowa, from 2000-2001. From 2001-2005, she was clinical assistant professor
and general practice residency director in the Hospital Dentistry division of UI Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. McKnight
is now clinical assistant professor in the College of Dentistry's Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology and Medicine.
Teaching Activities
: Dr. McKnight teaches in the Oral Diagnosis Clinic. She also gives lectures on infection
control, with special attention focusing on latex hypersensitivity and HIV. Dr. McKnight is a member of the Individualized
Clinician Training Program with the Midwest AIDS Education and Training Center. She is also a problem based learning (PBL)
facilitator.
