100% Instructional Resources Associate–Dental Lab – Dental Administration - Req #66046

Provide predoctoral students, advanced education residents, and faculty with support in the laboratory related aspects of fixed, removable, and implant prostheses, with special emphasis in the area of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided (CAM) fabrication.  In addition, provide instruction in the CAD/CAM and other related technologies in the classroom, laboratory, and clinic.  REQUIRES:  Bachelor’s degree in Dental Technology or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience; Certification by the National Board of Certification as a Certified Dental Technician (CDT); and 5 – 7 years’ experience, including --     Knowledge and use of current and new dental technologies, including use of computer-aided design and computer-aided machining; Knowledge of and ability to operate, calibrate, and maintain dental laboratory equipment; and Ability to balance duties related to the Technology Core with support needed for patient care priorities.  Salary:  $46,197 to commensurate.   For more information and to apply, go to:  http://jobs.uiowa.edu, reference Req #66005.  On Extended Advertising.


75-100% Research Associate – Preventive & Community Dentistry –Req #67035Involves both research and administrative roles. One main research responsibility is ensuring that the Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and documents are all up-to-date, and completing any modifications that need to be done. Another research responsibility is to act as a back-up staff member for research subject visits at the Clinical Research Unit (CRU), as needed. This requires being familiar with all of the procedures at the CRU including consenting of subjects. This position also acts as the contact person for the study from other researchers, CRU staff, IRB or study staff members to deal with any questions or issues that may arise regarding conduct of the study. There are also several administrative duties with this position which include supervising staff (both Merit and P&S staff), coordinating staff schedules and requests for time off, completing performance reviews, and dealing with any other HR issues as needed.  Position requires availability to occasionally assist on Saturdays and travel to satellite research locations in Iowa.  Requires:  Bachelor’s degree (Dental Hygiene, Nutrition, Epidemiology, Public Health or related field), or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible work experience;  1 – 3 years of relevant experience in the conduct of social science research in a clinical research setting, including the following skillsets – Research, Accuracy and Attention to Detail, Analytical Thinking , and Performance Management; and Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.  DESIRABLE:  Knowledge of health care and/or dental terminology; and Database management and data entry skills.  Salary:  $30,094 – $40,125 (depending on %-time) to commensurate.  For more information and to apply, go to:  http://jobs.uiowa.edu, reference Req #67035Advertising:  07/27/2015 – 08/10/2015.
