100% Instructional Resources Associate–Dental Lab – Dental Administration - Req #66046
Provide predoctoral students, advanced education residents, and faculty with support in the laboratory related aspects of fixed, removable, and implant prostheses, with special emphasis in the area of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided (CAM) fabrication. In addition, provide instruction in the CAD/CAM and other related technologies in the classroom, laboratory, and clinic. REQUIRES: Bachelor’s degree in Dental Technology or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience; Certification by the National Board of Certification as a Certified Dental Technician (CDT); and 5 – 7 years’ experience, including -- Knowledge and use of current and new dental technologies, including use of computer-aided design and computer-aided machining; Knowledge of and ability to operate, calibrate, and maintain dental laboratory equipment; and Ability to balance duties related to the Technology Core with support needed for patient care priorities. 40% TEMPORARY Dental Hygienist – Hospital Dentistry – Req #67484
Under direction of a dentist, provides oral prophylaxis by cleaning teeth and instructing patients on proper oral health care.
REQUIRES: B.S. degree with an emphasis in Dental Hygiene or equivalent; license to practice dental hygiene in the State of Iowa; local anesthesia permit issued by the State of Iowa; hygienists administering nitrous oxide must meet educational criteria in accordance with the rules of the Iowa Board of Dental Examiners; and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. HIGHLY Desirable: Experience working with radiation, medically compromised, and dental implant patients. Desirable: Proficiency working with an electronic health record. Hourly rate will be $27.49 - $40.25/hour. Hours of work will be Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and all day Friday. 100% Dental Assistant – Endodontics – Req #017017
Under general supervision, performs chairside dental assistance for Endodontic Faculty, graduate students, and dental students. Carries out all functions which a dental assistant is legally certified to perform as delegated by the faculty or student dentist. Participates in student coaching and feedback sessions. Requires: Current certificate of registration to practice as a dental assistant issued by the Iowa board of Dental Examiners; current Iowa certificate of proficiency in dental radiography; and successful completion of an ADAA Dental Assistance program or two years of chairside dental assistant experience assisting in four-handed method of dentistry. HIGHLY Desirable: Endo exp; excellence in patient care.
