100% Instructional Resource Associate-Dental Lab – Prosthodontics - Req #65296

The University of Iowa, College of Dentistry is searching for a full-time Instructional Resource Associate.  To support prosthodontic residents and faculty with the fixed and implant related laboratory aspects of their patient care.  Provide prosthodontic residents/students with instruction in fixed and implant prosthodontic technologies in the laboratory, clinic, and classroom.  REQUIRES:  Bachelor’s degree in Dental Technology or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience; Certification as a dental technician in fixed prosthodontics; and 3 - 5 years’ experience fabricating fixed and implant-supported prostheses including but not limited to - full-mouth rehabilitation, porcelain and esthetics, all-ceramic restorations and porcelain veneers, single- and multiple-unit implant prostheses, precision attachments, and surveyed crowns.  DESIRABLE:  Clinical Competency Training and Development; Knowledge and use of current and new dental technologies; Laboratory Equipment Operation; Clinical Leadership; Knowledge of and/or experience with dental restoration digital design; and Knowledge of and/or experience with milling dental restorations.  Salary:  $46,197 to commensurate.   For more information and to apply, go to:  http://jobs.uiowa.edu, reference Req #65296.    On Extended Advertising.


50% Revenue Cycle Representative – Hospital Dentistry - Req #65262

Make adjustments to and verify charges to patient accounts in the Hospital Dentistry Institute. To assimilate and analyze medical/dental benefit data to the resolution of a patient’s account; disseminate this information to insurance carriers, 3rd party agencies, the patient, staff and faculty.  Prepare and submit pre-authorization on the patient’s behalf to their insurance carriers.  Analyze and explain results of pre-authorization to the patient.  Collect money, apply to patient account and prepare deposits of revenue.  REQUIRES:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Health Administration or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; 6 months to one year directly related experience which includes a full spectrum of activities managing claims processing in a medical/dental practice to include - Data Gathering and Reporting, Effective Communications, KNOWLEDGE OF MEDICAL AND DENTAL CLAIMS, and General Computer Competencies.  DESIRABLE: CUSTOMER SUPPORT FUNCTION, Revenue cycle experience, and Experience with electronic health record and electronic claims submission, ideally w/AxiUm and/or IDX.  Salary:  $17,013 to commensurate.  For more information and to apply, go to:  http://jobs.uiowa.edu, reference Req #65262On Extended Advertising.

Assist and work with dentists, dental students and dental hygienists. Interacting with patients, assisting with the management of patients, training dental students in operation of the clinic, developing radiographs and chairside dental assisting. 100% Research Assistant – Dows Institute for Dental Research – Req #66050

Provide research assistance for Dr. Brad Amendt’s lab by organizing, caring for and obtaining tissue from multiple mouse colonies.  Prepare and analyze genotyping results.  Prepare DNA and RNA samples for analysis.  Do tissue processing and analysis.  Participate and contribute to research team committed to addressing basic science questions pertaining to cranio-facial and dental development, including  communicating ideas, presenting results at local meetings and developing new ideas.  REQUIRES:  Bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, or genetics, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; Typically requires 6 months experience including: mouse handling, genotyping, DNA/RNA isolations, PCR, Cell culture, and western blotting experience--mouse work will require some weekends and evenings; and Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  HIGHLY Desirable:  Experience with immunohistochemistry, tissue harvesting and embedding, paraffin section, and protein assays.  Salary:  $35,037 to commensurate.   For more information and to apply, go to:  http://jobs.uiowa.edu, reference Req #66050.  Advertising:  02/27/2015 – 03/13/2015.
