Brief Professional Resume:

Dr. Straub-Morarend served for several years as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Family Dentistry before joining the faculty in 2005 as an assistant professor.

Teaching Activities

: She serves as course director for the Treatment Planning & Sequencing course and as a group leader in the Department of Family Dentistry. Dr. Straub-Morarend presents various lectures and seminars to senior dental students and is an active participant in Problem-Based Learning (PBL) sessions for the first-year dental students. She also participates in statewide CE courses on evidence-based practice for dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants.

Clinical Activities

: She participates in intramural dental practice as a general dentist.

Research Activities

: Dr. Straub-Morarend's primary research interests include oral health literacy.

National or International Professional Appointments and Activities

: Dr. Straub-Morarend is a member of the American Dental Education Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Iowa Dental Association. She is newsletter editor of the ADEA Section on Comprehensive Care & General Dentistry.
