Brief Professional Resume:
Dr. Schneider joined the Department of Prosthodontics in 1984. In 2010, Dr. Schneider switched
from the Department of Prosthodontics to the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He has
published extensively in the prosthodontic literature and is very active in many prosthodontic
and dental laboratory organizations. He also lectures nationally and internationally on many
subjects addressing the clinical and laboratory phases of fixed, removable and implant prosthodontics.
Clinical Activities
: Dr. Schneider treats patients who are missing teeth by utilizing crowns, bridges, or partial
and complete dentures, frequently in combination with dental implant therapy. He is very experienced in treating patients with
acquired and congenital oral defects who require prostheses. He also treats patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnea
problems in cnjunction with the their physicians.
Research Activities
: Dr. Schneider's research includes dental materials, biomechanics of dental implant loading stress,
and materials for bone grafting, particularly for alveolar ridge augmentation.
National or International Professional Appointments and Activities
: Dr. Schneider is a member of the American
College of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Prosthodontic Society, the American Dental Association,
and the District Dental Society. He is past president of the American Prosthodontics Society (APS) and also past executive director
of the APS.
