Brief Professional Resume:

Dr. Schneider joined the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1999. He served as Department of Prosthodontics chair from 2006-2011. He is currently executive associate dean and a professor in the Department of Prosthodontics, with a joint appointment in the Dows Institute for Dental Research.

Clinical Activities

: Dr. Schneider is a board-certified prosthodontist and is actively involved in patient treatment within the Department of Prosthodontics' intramural practice.

Research Activities

: Dr. Schneider's research focuses on bone cell biology as it related to implant osseointegration and bone tissue engineering.

National or International Professional Appointments and Activities

: Dr. Schneider is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American and International Associations for Dental Research, the American Dental Education Association, and the American Dental Association. He currently serves as a basic science research editor for Journal of Prosthodontics. He serves on the editorial review board for the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants and is an ad hoc reviewer of articles for Journal of Dental Research; Prosthodontics; Oral and Maxillofacial Implants; Clinical Orthopedics; Biomaterials; Oral Rehabilitation; Nanomedicine; Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences; Stem Cells and Development; Clinical Oral Implants; Journal of Dental Education; Tissue Engineering; Special Care Dentistry; and Clinical Cancer Research. He has served, or is serving, on committees for the International and American Associations for Dental Research, the American College of Prosthodontists, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the National Institutes of Health.
