Brief Professional Resume:
Dr. Gomez was in private endodontic practice in Bogota, Colombia, from 1980-2003. During this time,
he was also a faculty member at the College of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics, Javeriana University,
and was president of the Association of Endodontists of Bogota for eight consecutive years. In 2005, he was
appointed as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Endodontics. Dr. Gomez is also director of
the D4 Endodontics program in the Department of Family Dentistry.
Teaching Activities
: Dr. Gomez instructs sophomore, junior and senior dental students in the Department
of Endodontics and is the coordinator of endodontics in Family Dentistry. He also actively participates in the
Advanced Education Program in Endodontics.
Clinical Activities
: Dr. Gomez participates in intramural dental practice in the Department of Endodontics.
Research Activities
: Dr. Gomez is interested in research related to new technology in endodontics, traumatic injuries to teeth, root resorption, pulp biology, and
periapical pathology.

: Dr. Gomez is a member of the American Dental Association,
the American Association of Endodontists, the Society of Endodontics of Bogota, and the American Dental Education Association.
He is a member of the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
