Brief Professional Resume:
Dr. Aquilino joined the College of Dentistry in 1982 as a member of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics.
He directed the prosthodontic graduate program from 1987-2001 and was head of the department from 2000-2006.
Teaching Activities
: Dr. Aquilino's primary teaching responsibilities are divided between the predoctoral
and graduate curriculum. This includes both preclinical and clinical instruction in fixed, removable, and implant
prosthodontics. He is currently the coordinator for the department's preclinical prosthodontic curriculum.
Clinical Activities
: Primary activities include the diagnosis and interdisciplinary treatment of the complex restorative
patient, including patients who require implant supported prostheses, patients with severe attrition, as well as the treatment of
patients requiring both fixed and removable prostheses.
Research Activities
: Dr. Aquilino's research activities include evaluating the clinical outcomes of prosthodontic
treatments, educational outcomes research, implant biomechanics, and dental biomaterial research. He is actively involved with
directing graduate MS research.
National or International Professional Appointments and Activities
: Dr. Aquilino has served as a reviewer for
Journal of Esthetic
Dentistry, Journal of the American Dental Association, Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and
Journal of Prosthodontics. He has served
on the board of directors of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and also the American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr. Aquilino is past president
of the American Board of Prosthodontics.
