Brief Professional Resume:
Dr. Kolker joined the College of Dentistry in 2005 after completing a research fellowship at the University of Michigan
and a PhD in oral science at Iowa as an NIDCR Dentist-Scientist. She is an associate professor in the Department of Operative Dentistry.
Teaching Activities
: Dr. Kolker is director of 082:122, Operative Dentistry I, a freshman course. She is also a
clinical instructor for sophomore, junior and graduate students in the Department of Operative Dentistry.
Clinical Activities
: She participates in intramural dental practice in the Department of Operative Dentistry.
Research Activities
: Dr. Kolker's current interests include early caries clinical detection and root caries classification
using the International Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS). Dr. Kolker also actively incorporates ICDAS into the dental curriculum at Iowa.
National or International Professional Appointments and Activities
: Dr. Kolker is a member of the American Association of
Public Health Dentistry; the American Board of Dental Public Health; the International and American Association for Dental Research;
the Academy of Operative Dentistry; the American Dental Education Association; and the American Dental Association. Dr. Kolker is secretary
for the American Board of Operative Dentistry and she is a member of the ICDAS Coordinating Committee.
