Brief Professional Resume:

Dr. Hernández joined the College of Dentistry in 2003 after working as director of the operative dentistry section at the Universidad Javeriana Dental School, Bogotá, Colombia, and working in private practice for ten years. She is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Operative Dentistry.

Teaching Activities

::  Dr. Hernández is course director for Dental Anatomy and instructor in pre-clinical operative dentistry, junior and graduate operative seminars and clinics.

Clinical Activities

: She is involved with the intramural dental practice in the Department of Operative Dentistry.

Research Activities

: Dr. Hernández is interested in adhesive systems and their relationship to dental structures; structural changes in dentin related to caries; and stepwise excavation.

: Dr. Hernández is a current member of the Academy of Operative Dentistry, the International Association for Dental Research, and the American Dental Education Association. She is faculty advisor for the Hispanic Dental Association.
