Brief Professional Resume:
Dr. Geneser is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of
Pediatric Dentistry. He also serves as graduate program director. He joined the University of Iowa College of Dentistry as an adjunct assistant professor in 2009. In 2011,
he took a full-time appointment as clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
An Iowa native, Dr. Geneser graduated from dental school at the University of Iowa in
2006. He did his residency training at St. Joseph Hospital in
Providence, Rhode Island, and received his certificate in 2008. Dr. Geneser
stayed on and worked as an attending dentist, treating patients and overseeing pediatric dental residents at St. Joseph
Hospital from 2008-2009. In 2009, he moved back to the Iowa City area and worked in private practice at Pediatric Dentistry
of Coralville until officially joining the Department of Pediatric Dentistry in 2011. He is now the graduate program director for the Pediatric Dentistry advanced specialty
program.
Teaching Activities
: Dr. Geneser is involved with the teaching activities of both the undergraduate dental
students as well as the pediatric dentistry residents.
Clinical Activities
: Dr. Geneser supervises patient care for the undergraduate dental students and the pediatric dentistry
residents. He also spends time at the Pediatric Dental Center in Muscatine, overseeing predoctoral and postdoctoral students as well as
providing direct patient care. Dr. Geneser treats private patients in his faculty practice at the Center for Disabiities and Development.
National or International Professional Appointments and Activities
: Dr. Geneser is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric
Dentistry, the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Iowa Dental Association. He is also an active member of the American Association
of Public Health Dentistry.
