Child and Elder Mandatory Reporting Course
Child & Dependent Adult Abuse & Neglect and Elder Mistreatment have increasingly been recognized as serious and complex health issues. Dental practitioners and staff are required mandatory reporters and are required by law to receive approved continuing education every 5 years. This web-based coruse reviews the types, prevalence, risk factors, signs and symptoms, preventive interventions, reporting and ethical considerations of child and adult dependent abuse and neglect. As well, this course is approved by the Abuse Education Review Panel and meets the educational requirement for mandatory reporters.
Completion of this course qualifies the enrollee for 2 CE Credit Hours.

Current Topics in Infection Control and Office Safety
This program will present the fundamentals of infection control and provide tips for implementing better infection control practices in the dental office. The program content is based on the CDC’s 2003 Recommended Infection Control Practices for Dentistry. Information on the safe use of hazardous chemicals is also included. Application of the concepts presented in this program will help ensure a safe clinical environment for patients and dental health care workers and also maintain compliance with OSHA and the state dental board.
Completion of this course qualifies the enrollee for 2 CE credit hours.

Meth Mouth
If you are Delta Dental participating dentist registering for this course, please call Penni Ryan at 319-335-7166 to register. The development of the Meth Mouth CE course was funded by Delta Dental of Iowa.
The medical model of disease control provides the foundation for proper diagnosis, minimal intervention treatment and prognosis of dental caries for patients with multiple active lesions. Meth user patients should be considered patients at high risk due to several risk factors related to lifestyle and habits. During this session a protocol of treatment will be discussed along with the importance of caries risk assessment to identify and treat the individual risk factors for these patients.
Completion of this course qualifies the enrollee for 2 CE credit hours.
